As stated by law enforcement, Jihad Al-Shamie had been taken into custody on suspicion of rape and was out on police bail at the time he perpetrated a lethal knife and car attack on a Greater Manchester synagogue.

Adrian Daulby and another individual were killed in the attack last Thursday, and several individuals are still receiving medical care.

Investigators believe that Al-Shamie could have been motivated by "extreme Islamist ideology" and announced that three more people, between 18 and mid-40s, had been arrested on suspicion of planning and enabling of terrorist activities.

Condolences Paid to Victims

On Friday, families of the deceased men expressed their grief to their family members, hailing them as heroes who died saving others.

Mr Daulby, 53 and the 66-year-old victim were killed during the incident after the attacker used a vehicle at members of the public before attacking individuals with a knife on Thursday morning.

Greater Manchester Police confirmed one victim was hit by police gunfire as they fired at the suspect soon after the alarm was raised.

Relatives Comments

The relatives of one victim stated he "lost his life in the act of courage to save others" and his final act "demonstrated extreme bravery and he will forever be remembered".

The second victim, a local resident, served as a protection officer at the synagogue.

In tribute, his loved ones expressed: "He was so compassionate, considerate and always wanted to chat and build relationships.

"He remained devoted to his spouse, relatives and enjoyed his meals. He will be sorely missed by his wife, loved ones, companions and neighborhood."

Probe Initiated into Police Response

An independent police watchdog said it would examine the use of lethal force by armed police dealing with the attack, which happened on Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar.

Officers with firearms inadvertently killed Mr Daulby, while congregant another individual was also shot by officers leaving him serious injuries.

The investigation will concentrate on the "events surrounding the deadly officer-involved shooting of the attacker", as well as "whether police may have caused or contributed to the death of the individual later discovered with the fatal gunshot wound".

Assault Details Revealed

Anti-terrorism authorities also provided more details about what happened in the period leading to Thursday's attack at the local Jewish worship center.

Through an announcement released to the media on Friday, Mr Taylor said: "We have been told from eyewitness statements that a man was seen acting suspiciously near the temple prior to he was confronted by protection staff and walked away".

During that moment, the situation had not been communicated to authorities. A short time after, "the suspect came back in a car and began his violent assault," Mr Taylor continued.

Police are applying for legal orders to further detain all six people now in custody, he additionally stated. On Thursday, Greater Manchester Police confirmed three other suspects - two men in their thirties and a woman in her 60s - had been taken into custody under suspicion of commission, preparation and instigation of acts of terrorism.

Eyewitness Accounts

The religious leader was leading prayers when his place of worship was attacked and recounted witnessing "evil and hate" as a man began "body-charging the doors, throwing heavy plant pots, doing whatever he could to gain entry".

Praising the quick-thinking of those at the synagogue, he told media outlets: "I saw genuine heroism, it must be noted, and people who ran to help others instead of running away. It was astonishing."

The synagogue chairman, the temple's chairman of trustees told journalists, he overheard Al-Shamie yelling "this is what they get for harming innocent youth", before "banging his knife into the glass, trying to get through".
