Football Recap: Denver Edge Hapless Jets in Low-Scoring Battle

In a defensive struggle on Sunday, the Broncos clinched a 13-11 win over the struggling New York Jets. Quarterback Bo Nix threw an early scoring strike and kicker Wil Lutz kicked the late decisive three-pointer to secure the ugly win.

Dominant Performance Seals Contest

Even with recording nine sacks against Jets quarterback Justin Fields, the Broncos found themselves trailing 11-10 following giving up a safety in the second half. Interestingly, the Jets could only produce just 82 total net yards during the entire game.

The Denver quarterback, who went 19 of 30 attempts for 174 yards, led a decisive 12-play, 65-yard possession that ended with Lutz's short field goal with approximately five minutes remaining.

Record Difficulties for Jets Attack

Despite their horrendous performance, the Jets maintained possession with a opportunity to drive for a potential victory. But Fields was sacked on fourth down from the Denver 44 after coach Aaron Glenn opted to attempt the conversion rather than calling on kicker Nick Folk for a difficult kick.

Fields struggled throughout, completing just 9 of 17 attempts for 45 yards. The Jets finished with negative ten passing yards, the fewest in any game since 1998.

"Our passing game was completely absent," Glenn commented following the game.
